Jesus came to dwell among us. Jesus came to LIVE with us, to be with us. His plan was to move in permanently. He didn't come for just for a visit. By becoming 'veiled if flesh' he walked amongst us on the earth, a living, breathing messenger of God's passionate desire to live amongst his people.
In our times of grief -- He is with us.
In our times of joy and bliss - He dances with us.
He is with us in our loneliness to bring us peace
And with us when we seeks solitude, hiding us in his secret place.
He sits beside us in our play and he goes with us as we toil.
In our confusion and indecision, he is with us to bring us wise counsel and direction.
When we stand misunderstood and judged by others, he is there as our advocate.
When we are marginalized by society - he reminds us of the great price he paid for us.
In our hopelessness, he whispers his hope.
He stands guard over us as we sleep and is the first to greet us as we waken.
He is with us at our birth and he is with us in our dying breath.
He rejoices with us in our triumphs and he strengthens us in our failures.
He remains at the side of even those who refuse to acknowledge his presence
Lavishing upon them visible signs of His great love for them through his magnificent creation.
He stands ready with His forgiveness and healing.
When we stubbornly stumble along paths where our feet should not walk,
He is with us when we hide our faces from him in shame and guilt.
He sees our needs and provides the air we breathe, the bread we eat,
The clothes on our back and the roof over our head.
Even in our ingratitude, his hand of provision is always full.
We have been so blessed to comprehend the simple truth "God dwells with us" and God has given us his directive. "Go with me, walk with me to those who have yet to comprehend my truth."In the same way Jesus' incarnation on earth was a tangible sign of God's desire that all men would know He is near so God has called you to be a tangible, practical vessel, carrying his love to those who have yet to know Emmanuel.
May you carry Emmanuel with you this year!
